Project Summary:
The Mozambique Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MozMEL) Activity is a five-year initiative to support the Mission in monitoring, evaluation, learning, training, and logistical support. The U.S. Government (USG) is committed to partnering with Mozambique to stabilize conflict-affected areas and build longer-term resilience and peace. In the wake of modest security gains by regional forces against ISIS-M, Mozambican leaders now have a critical opportunity to address these vulnerabilities and foster recovery, reconciliation, and resilience. The United States Strategy to Prevent Conflict and Promote Stability (SCPCS) will layout the strategic grounds to reach that goal.

Position Summary:
The Violence and Conflict Specialist will produce an updated conflict analysis section in the SCPCS strategic document. This is a short-term position and can be performed remotely.
Responsibilities
Conduct desk review to update the conflict analysis that is in the SPCPS document. Create list of data sources used. Qualifications:
Minimum master’s degree in international development, conflict, security, or other relevant is required. Minimum 10 years of experience in conducting Conflict and Security analysis is required. Experience in analyzing violent extremism in sub-Saharan Africa is required. Familiarity with the bibliography and news about violent extremism in Northern Mozambique is required. Strong writing skills is required. Fluency in English is required. Fluency in Portuguese is preferred. *Deadline for applying for this position - September 12, 2023
