General objective:
The aim of the program is to rehabilitate Mueda's drinking water network. It will ensure the supply of drinking water not only to the population of Mueda, but also to several IDP camps.
The camps are currently supplied in part by the drinking water network, but suffer from major irregularities linked to the state of the network and its management. To meet the population's water needs, SI has set up a water supply via water trucking, and the rehabilitation of the network is part of a strategy to move away from water trucking.
The main challenges:
The network design has been validated by several specialists, and will shortly be presented to the network operator for validation. Some readaptations will be necessary to meet the constraints, and these will be made as the program progresses.
It will also be necessary to integrate the network manager in order to make him/her more responsible for the maintenance of infrastructures and works.
Priorities for the 2/3 first months:
Contribute to suppliers selection Initiate waterworks and water tower construction according to established designs Train teams in the follow-up of Assure the follow-up of works

Education / academic background and experience:
WASH engineering educative background 3-4 years of experience in the humanitarian sector 3-4 years on a similar position Specific skills and experience:
Strong water network Drilling educational background Construction Management Management of institutional and contractual partners Language:

A salaried position:
According to experience, starting from EUR gross per month ( base salary + 10% annual leave allowance paid monthly) and a monthly Per Diem of USD .
SI also covers accommodation costs and travel expenses between the expatriate's country of origin and the place of assignment.
Breaks: During the assignment, a system of alternation between work and time off is implemented at the rate of 7 working days every three months (with a USD break allowance, allocated by Sl). To these breaks periods, SI grants one additional rest day per month worked.
Insurance package: Expatriates benefit from an insurance package which refunds all healthcare expenses (including medical and surgical expenses, dental care and ophthalmological expenses, repatriation) and a welfare system including war risks. Essential vaccination and antimalarial treatment costs are refunded.

Security risks are low, and restrictions are very limited.
However, when going on the field bases, living conditions are more basic, with fewer opportunities for socialization, as well as some individual movements’ restrictions. Security levels vary according to the different geographical locations and changes of context.
